Emeril's One-Pot Blogger Party: Pulled Pork Sandwich and Vinegar Coleslaw

I'm a sucker for good pig. Ever since I had some amazing pork a few weeks ago at a Food Blogger event, I have been wanting to make some more for myself. Then I saw some pork shoulder on sale and it was a go. We got two extremely large Pork Butt roasts so I've now made pulled pork twice in the last three weeks. Pulled Pork is a great way to make a ton of food for a lot of people for not a lot of money. It takes a fairly cheap cut of meat, slow roasts it and turns it into a juicy, succulent meat perfect for piling up on a bun, topping with coleslaw and enjoying with friends and family.

Spicy Filet Mignon Salad with Ginger-Lime Dressing

I had some filet mignon left over from when I made Beef Wellington a few weeks ago and I wanted to make something a little different with it and I came across this salad from Bobby Flay. It just sounded good so I thought I'd give it a whirl.

Mardi Gras King Cake

We've lived quite a few places around the country since we've been married but one of our favorites is certainly our time spent in New Orleans, Louisiana. We were there for just a year but we fell in love with the people, culture and of course the food. One for the best events we were able to participate in was the fantastic series of parades leading up to Mardi Gras. We lived in Mandeville and they hosted some great family friendly parades that the kids loved to go to. It was so much fun standing alongside the parade route cheering and trying to get the best toys and trinkets from floats. We still have bags of beads and trinkets that the kids love to play with just from the one year that we were there.

Chocolate Budino Tart with Olive Oil and Sea Salt

Can you imagine taking chocolate, extra virgin olive oil and sea salt and coming up with a decent dessert? Well how about one that is simply amazing? As part of the Foodbuzz Tastemaker program I recently received samples of Crisco's Olive Oil varieties and wanted to find a recipe that really showed off the great flavor. This tart contrasts the sweetness of the chocolate and the savory flavors of the olive oil and sea salt resulting in a deep flavor that I never would have expected.

Beef Wellington

***Foodbuzz.com Top 9 on February 18th, 2011***

For Valentines Day, I tackled a meat dish I've been wanting to make for some time now. I'm a big fan of Hell's Kitchen and every time I see them slice into those perfect, (or not so perfect, accompanied by strings of profanity) Beef Wellington's, my mouth starts to water. I don't know why I haven't made them before today but I got the last available package of Filet Mignon's from Costco and knew tonight was the night to go for it.

Video Demonstration for Bon Appetit's Spiced Chocolate Torte Wrapped in Chocolate Ribbons

Now that the Super Bowl is over, it's time to start thinking Valentine's Day. What better way to show your love for that special someone than to create this beautiful torte. Three wonderful layers of sweet chocolate spice cake layered with light fluffy buttercream, covered in a rich chocolate glaze and then perfected with black and white chocolate ribbons. While typically branded as a holiday cake, there is no reason why this cake can't be the centerpiece at a birthday, celebration or in this case, an intimate Valentine's dinner.
